香港細路學英文難關全面拆解
語言關卡
首先講發音同音韻學嘅難題。研究發現好似/θ/(例如"think")同/ð/(例如"this")呢類齒擦音最難搞,因為廣東話根本冇呢啲音。好似"chrysanthemum"[krɪˈsænθ.ə.məm]呢啲鬼死咁長嘅生字,小朋友讀到甩轆都未準。仲有英文嘅重音節奏同廣東話嘅平仄完全兩回事,搞到啲細路拍子都跟唔上。
文法方面就更加頭痕。英文要加冠詞、變複數、動詞又要時態,廣東話通通唔使搞呢啲。結果啲細路成日搞亂"he go"定"he goes","a apple"定"an apple"。中文句子可以調來調去都得,但英文詞序硬繃繃,寫句嘢好似砌積木咁要就住就住。
生字量多到嚇親人,仲要加埋啲鬼佬慣用語同文化背景。2021年人口普查話88.2%香港人日常講廣東話,真係想浸鹹水都冇機會。研究仲話細路仔缺乏真實語境,學親英文都係書本嘢,搞到學完都唔識用。
社會文化絆腳石
出到街九成人都係講廣東話,人口普查話得5.5%人會用其他方言。學校教完英文落堂就冇得用,啲細路想練都冇機會。文化上又怕瘀怕失威,調查發現好多學生驚講錯俾人笑,結果堂上死都唔肯開口。屋企同社會支援都唔夠力,一個老師要對住幾十人,邊有時間逐個教?
教育政策困局
三語兩文政策搞咗廿幾年,教學安排可能有影響。有d學校硬性規定「用中文教就唔准講英文」,搞到中文中學好似次等公民咁。小學畢業得三成學生入到英文中學,其他七成點算?課堂規矩都唔合時宜,有d研究話中英夾雜教法有效,但尼d情況通常被禁止。
總括嚟講,香港細路學英文要過五關斬六將,由發音、文法到社會環境都係障礙。
兒童英文認字課程
學習模式
學習模式用多維度設計,畀學生一個全面嘅學習體驗。系統可以好順暢咁喺粵語同普通話模式之間切換,等學生揀最適合自己嘅語言環境。對於幼稚園K1到K3嘅學生,學習內容會有齊所有常用英文字嘅詳盡列表,幫佢哋打好基礎;到咗小一(P1)之後,就只會加入新學嘅詞彙,逐步擴大詞彙量。每個詞彙都有英文、普通話同粵語嘅拼音、語音朗讀功能,加上表情符號解釋同例子,豐富理解層次。
測試模式
測試模式會喺詞庫入面隨機揀10個詞彙出嚟考學生,當中有啲可能係未學過嘅。不過唔使驚,可以當係一個挑戰,試吓估答案,培養學習嘅勇氣同樂趣。如果考試成績有80%以上,就會攞到一張可愛嘅證書做獎勵,張張證書都唔一樣,增加學習動力。家長仲可以自己設計其他獎勵,例如連續攞7張證書就畀份大獎,鼓勵小朋友堅持學落去。
遊戲模式
遊戲模式用趣味活動幫學生鞏固記憶,例如翻開摺卡配對,畀學習過程變得生動有趣。為咗加多啲挑戰性,部分遊戲會有鏡像文字,等學生喺玩樂中訓練認知能力,同時加深對英文字嘅印象。呢啲寓教於樂嘅方法唔單止提高學習興趣,仲可以有效強化記憶成果。
